KUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has again been admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN).
According to IJN, Dr Mahathir has been admitted to undergo an elective medical procedure.
The Langkawi MP was recently discharged from IJN on December 23 after his admission on December 16.
It was understood he was initially admitted there last month to undergo a series of medical investigations.
Due to current Covid-19 standard operating procedures, no one is allowed to visit the 96-year-old parliamentarian.
The two-time prime minister suffered his first heart attack in 1989 and had two more in 2006. A year later, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery.
The last time he was hospitalised was in February 2018 at IJN. - The Vibes, December 17, 2021
